Seitaku “TAK” Aoyama, artist
BIOGRAPHY:
Born in Tokyo, Tak began studying art in a progressive Tokyo kindergarten where many world-renowned artists also got their “start.”
Tak began work at a Tokyo-based Korean trading company. Looking for further international expansion, Tak quit his corporate job, started working nights to save money and took off to Southern California.

Re-encountering art as he did at the age of five, Tak studied art and industrial design. He went on to produce toys in Tokyo and establish a graphic design studio in the US. A branding package for a San Diego City event was the first public application of Tak’s artwork. He was finally creating ART, not commercial design. Since then, Tak has been creating art pieces, full throttle.
Seitaku ‘TAK’ Aoyama’s work has been shown in the US & Japan.

Also, Tak is not much of a linguist but enjoys meeting people and languages such as Japanese, English, Italian, Korean… and would like to enjoy with more.

ARTIST STATEMENT:
According to the law of conservation of mass, everything that is generated on this planet stays on this planet changing its form. Through my art endeavors, I aim to challenge, reveal and connect ever-changing multiple aspects of our lives.

BIOGRAPHY:
1973年東京生まれ。アートとの出会いは東京にある幼稚園、世田谷幼児生活団時代に遡る。　世田谷幼児生活団は数多くの著名芸術家や文化人を輩出する幼稚園。大学卒業後は韓国の外資系商社に勤め、韓国との仕事に従事。世界レベルでの活動を目指し会社を退社。夜勤の仕事で費用を稼ぎ渡米、南カリフォルニアに漂着。

この時5歳時に親しんだアート活動に再会する。米国でアートと工業デザインを学んだ後、東京に戻り玩具プロデュースに従事、又再来した米国ではデザイン事務所を立ち上げる。アーティストになるきっかけはサンディエゴ市のイベント。担当したブランディングにデザインではなく自らのアートを起用。多くの方たちより評価をいただき、以降フル・スロットルでアート制作に取り組んでいる。
現在、米国と日本でアート活動中。

言語学者ではないが、様々な人に出会う事、そして色々な言語を楽しむ。英、日、伊、韓…など。
今後も更に楽しんでいく予定。

ARTIST STATEMENT:
質量保存の法則によれば、この閉ざされた惑星、地球上で生まれるものはすべてこの惑星内で姿や形を変えながら存続していく。　創作活動をとおし、この地球上で私達の命の周りをとりまき、変化し続けるこの様々な要素に注目しながら、結びつける事、表現する事に挑んでいる。
